"Standing Amid Chaos and Beauty": Ali Nasir in Conversation with Amir Soghrati

Since Mr. Nasir lives in Berlin, these were conducted in writing, and whenever he came to Iran we also spoke in person. What is published in this book is only a small part of our conversations. Although Ali Nasir lives outside Iran, he remains deeply connected to its art scene and has held several exhibitions in Iran. He is a distinctive figure in Iranian art, and over all the years I have been in touch with him and other artists living abroad, I have realized that each of them has much left unsaid about Iranian art. The conversation section is published bilingually, and the artworks section includes pieces from 40 years ago to the present, some of which have never been exhibited before. They are arranged chronologically, showing where the artist began and how he arrived where he is today. Every period of his work is discussed in depth, along with the artist's views on the world and on humanity, the main subject of his work.
